BC Safety Authority's Relaxed Standards puts Electrical Workers at Risk

An agreement between BC Safety Authority (BCSA) and Applied Science Technicians and Technologists of BC (ASTTBC) allows workers who are not red seal certified electricians to perform electrical installations. "This puts workers at risk despite our efforts to improve regulations," says Deborah Cahill, President of the Electrical Contractors Association of BC.

Arc Flash & Shock Training Now Available

Format: e-Learning
By: Terry Becker, P.Eng

The ESTS is a state of the art, adult oriented arc flash and shock training program.

Upon successful completion of this online course, attendees will have the knowledge and skills to mitigate or reduce exposure to the electrical hazards of arc flash and shock.

"I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about the dangers of Arc Flash so they can minimize the risk of injury. The course was easy to register and use online. It gave us valuable work and safety information that we could also pass on to other workers. The course modules were very concise and to the point." - Clay, Villa Electric
